Cindy Cummons

Cindy has been working with children and adults throughout her career as a counselor and educator. With a master’s degree in social work and independent licensure, she has focused her career on helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of life. Along with her social work background, she is an Advanced Trainer with the Nurtured Heart Approach and a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. The Nurtured Heart Approach is an educational program for parents with ADHD, intense, or difficult children. As a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional, Cindy can provide play therapy and sand tray therapy to children and adults.

Cindy primarily uses a client-centered approach to treatment. She focused on the individual needs of her clients, creating a safe, non-judgmental space so that clients can work at their own pace. She works with adults affected by anxiety, depression, grief, life changes, and relationship issues. Her passion is for providing healing spaces for children aged 3 and up. With children and adolescents, Cindy uses art and games to create a safe atmosphere. She will utilize cognitive behavioral treatment exercises to enhance learning new strategies. The office has dedicated space for a playroom and art room where children can choose the space that works best for them.

In addition to her rich social work background, Cindy is a published author, having authored the insightful book “Taming the Energy Monster,” published in 2020. Illustrated by her talented daughter, this book provides valuable perspectives on managing life’s complexities. You can explore her book on Amazon at this link.

Cindy is married with two adult children. She is active in her church and community. She loves to grow vegetables and flowers in her gardens and enjoys traveling.
