Joy Williams

Joy, with her caring spirit and desire to see people thrive in life, has dedicated her life to walking alongside children, adolescents, families and adults through difficult chapters in their lives and helping them realize their full potential.

Joy brings over 20 years of diverse experiences working alongside individuals and families in the clinical, medical and community social work settings. Joy brings knowledge from working with the foster care system, home-based treatment with children and families, and as a medical social worker at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Joy was also instrumental in developing a Veteran’s group for PTSD during her time as a social worker in California.

Joy strives to show compassion and positive regard based on her God-centered foundation to all she serves. She believes that each person has their own journey and works to create a safe environment where people can begin to realize their strengths and spiritual connections. She has a deep compassion for working with children and adolescents, offering a non-judgmental place for self-exploration and development. Joy uses an eclectic approach to counseling, using methods that best help each individual in the moment. Joy believes it is an honor to walk alongside each person she serves in whatever journey they may be on.

Joy is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who received her Bachelors in Psychology in 1999 from the Ohio State University. She went on to receive her Masters of Social Work in 2001 also from The Ohio State University. Joy continues to learn best practices and new ways to better assist those she serves. Outside of her professional life, Joy enjoys volunteering as the youth leader at her church, spending time with her family and friends and walking her beloved dog, Ari.
